2. Exercise Intensity
Intensity is what drives your body to produce hormones.
When you workout with the right intensity for the right duration… you’re going to produce a flood of fat burning and lean muscle building hormones. But keep in mind that intensity isn’t just about pushing yourself until you pass out… if that was the case, you can keep doing your bootcamp workouts, spinning classes or anything else that makes you sweat and breath hard… and you should have a six pack in no time. As I mentioned earlier, working out too hard for too long actually makes things worse by activating bad hormones in your body that promote fat gain along with other negative effects.
If you want to maximize intensity for your fat burning benefit, there are 3 variables that need to be carefully weighed out… effort, duration and rest. Effort - how much are you pushing yourself. Duration - how long are you pushing yourself. Rest - How long do you rest between bouts of effort. The right combination of these variables is what you need in order to maximize your fat burning hormones while keeping bad hormones at bay, so you can achieve your best result in the fastest time possible.
