Fish Oil Turns Fat Storing Cells To Fat Burning Cells

Why is Fish Oil So Effective For Weight Loss?
Researchers discovered that fish oil transforms the way the cells work within the body. As a result, fat-storage cells turn into fat-burning cells, and it becomes easier to reduce weight gain. When a person consumes fish oil, it activates receptors that are present within the digestive tract which changes the way fat storage works in the body.
Even though it is commonly assumed that all fat cells store fat, there are actually different kinds of fat tissues that react in different ways. “White” fat cells store fat to help with ongoing energy supply, and “brown” fat cells work to metabolize fat in a way that assists with the regulation of body temperature. As a person ages, it is common for brown fat cells to decrease and white fat cells to increase… enhance the middle-age weight gain.
Additionally, a third type of fat cell has been discovered: “beige” fat cells. These function in a similar way as brown cells, and they also decrease in numbers as a person gets older. It is important that you understand the function of beige cells, because it has been suggested that these cells can actually increase depending on the types of foods that you eat.
The findings of this research study showed that the consumption of fish oil can actually help by increasing beige cells. As a result, it is easier to manage fat accumulation which assists with your weight loss efforts. It was found that the sympathetic nervous system was stimulated by the fish oil, which allowed beige cells to be formed from white cells and gave the fat cells the ability to metabolize.
Using Fish Oil For Weight Loss
Now that we understand the connection between fish oil and weight loss, it is easy to see why the Mediterranean and Japanese diets contribute to weight loss and longevity. These studies were specifically focused on middle-aged people, although it is theorized that the fat-burning benefits are most likely beneficial for people of all ages.
Bottomline: Eat more cold-water fish to help you burn more fat… easy peezy! And if you don’t like to eat fish (or you simply don’t eat fish as much as you’d like) you can take quality fish oil supplements. Just make sure that the supplement is from a trustworthy company that uses quality sources.
