Ever see stability balls or “swiss balls” rolling around at the gym?
They’re one of my favorite pieces of equipment. Adding a stability ball to exercise moves you’re already familiar with can really take things to the “next level.”
Stability balls help you target “ancillary” or supporting muscle groups that are easy to ignore during most exercises, activating more muscles when you workout…increasing calorie burn and intensity.
Try the plank exercises below and compare them to “regular” planks….
Do you feel all of those extra muscles activating?
Your body is working hard to keep things aligned…starting with your core and extending to your hips, arms, legs, and back.
This is why stability balls or “swiss balls” are such an amazing tool!
Every time you incorporate one of these balls into an exercise, you’re recruiting additional muscles that help you stay balanced. You can take a simple plank and make it a total body movement.
Swiss balls a great way to mix things up and keep your body guessing! Plus, they make sure you’re building balanced, functional strength that looks great and actually helps support your body.
